Epidemiological studies revealed that certain lifestyle choices are known to cause cancer. Small changes to one's everyday lifestyle and behaviour reduce the risk.
C. Original Article: Biliary Ascariasis: An Experience of 47 Cases
In this study, we had presented 47 our experience of 47 patients of biliary ascariasis seen in two tertiary referral centers.
D. Original Article: Manner of Deaths at a Selected Medical College Morgue House in the Year 2008
A retrospective study was carried out with 480 cases of autopsy at Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue house in the year 2008. Data were collected from the documented records. As the occurrence of unnatural deaths are increasing day by day in our country, urgency to execute, to strengthen and to reform law need immediate attention.
E. Original Article: Pattern of Nephrotic Syndrome in Children Admitted in Bangladesh Medical College Hospital
This prospective observational study was conducted with 20 admitted pediatric patients with Nephrotic Syndrome (both 1st attack and relapse) into the Paediatric department of BMCH.

A cross-sectional comparative study was conducted among the eligible couples of affluent and poor society in urban Dhaka, Bangladesh, from January 2009 to June 2009 to evaluate the gender role in contraceptive use between societies.
G. Original Article: Possible Role of Acidic Fibroblast Growth Factor (aFGF) in the Rescue Effect of Injured Sensory Neurons due to Tooth Extraction
In this experimental study, we used three groups of ICR mice. In the first group, no tooth was extracted. In the other two groups, unilateral tooth extraction was done on day 20 old mice and one group of mice was treated with aFGF into the empty tooth socket immediately after tooth extraction and the other group was untreated.
H. Case Report: Venous Thrombo-embolism During Pregnancy: A Case Report
Here the management of a case of 31 weeks of pregnancy with clinically suspected pulmonary thromboembolism in the setting of deep venous thrombosis in our institution has been reported.

his study was done at BMCH on four patients who were treated between August,2007 to December, 2009. All the cases were diagnosed per-operatively and were treated by gut resection, followed by anticoagulation.
K. Review Article: USG Guided Chorionic Villus Sampling
Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) can play a very crucial and pivotal role to determine chromosomal or genetic disorders in the fetus. CVS entails getting a sample of the chorionic villus (Placental tissue) and testing it. It can be done 10-12 weeks after the last menstrual period (LMP). It is the preferred technique before 15 weeks.
